This circuit, found in a 1982 documentation, consists of a small inverter based on a Hartley oscillator. The transistor must have a heat sink and the transformer has a secondary of 200 to 800 mA. R1 can be changed to obtain the best performance depending on the transformer used. In fact, the high voltage proclaimed is due to the peaks being a little exaggerated to say that they reach 2 kV. In practice, you can reach a maximum of 500 V.
