This circuit, found in a 1979 documentation, consists of a small inverter that applies a voltage to the test zener diode so that its performance can be measured with a multimeter. The T1 transformer can be wound on a ferrite rod with a primary of 80 turns of wire 28 and a secondary of 400 turns of wire 32. The circuit will work better if powered by batteries instead of a 9 V battery, given its consumption.
