We have a diagram of a typical 1940's car radio, noting the use of the vibrator to get the high voltage to the valve plates. The 5-tube circuit also employed a gas rectifier. The circuit had an IF of 455 kHz and was intended to capture the mid-wave range. Observe the input filter to prevent propagation through the car wiring of the noise generated by the vibrator
