This circuit excites an LED, which will flash at a frequency adjusted by the trimpot. The other ports on the same integrated circuit can be used in similar configurations. Resistor R will be 470 ohms for 3 to 6 V supply, 680 ohms for 9 V supply and 1k ohms for 12 V supply.
