Yes, in 1958, before the invention of the integrated circuit, modules already existed, they were components assembled in a basic configuration, in a hybrid system in which they were sold in closed packaging. The circuit shown appeared in Radio Electronics magazine in February 1958. Written by one of my favorite authors of the time.
