Benewake TF-UW500 Underwater Single-Point ToF LiDAR is a high-precision underwater single-point LiDAR sensor engineered to deliver reliable distance measurement, mapping, and positioning beneath the water’s surface. Built on a direct Time-of-Flight (dToF) measurement principle, it uses a Class 1 eye-safe visible red laser to achieve accurate, stable ranging performance even in challenging aquatic environments. Featuring an extended detection range exceeding five meters in low-turbidity water (representing a tenfold improvement over earlier Benewake underwater models), the TF-UW500 enables highly detailed underwater perception. Centimeter-level accuracy and millimeter-level repeatability support precise mapping and coordinate positioning, making the LiDAR especially effective for applications such as underwater robotics and pool cleaning systems. The TF-UW500 maintains compact dimensions (24mm × 16mm × 20.4mm) and a lightweight structure under five grams, ensuring easy integration into miniaturized underwater platforms. The narrow 0.5° field-of-view (FoV) provides a concentrated laser spot for superior directionality and reduced multipath interference compared to ultrasonic sensors.
