Cascade Voltage Doubler (MA083E)

This circuit uses only two diodes and capacitor's working voltage are calculated as follows:

Cascade Voltage Doubler:

Vc1 = Vmax

Vc2 = 2 x Vmax

Where:

Vc1 and Vc2 are the capacitor's working voltage in volts (V)

Vmax is the peak or maximum value of the input AC voltage in volts (V)

Note: PIV of the diodes are 2 x Vmax (minimum).
