The model aircraft spark plug filaments operate with a low voltage of the order of 1.5 V. This source is precisely indicated to start the engine, when this voltage must be applied to the spark plugs. The circuit is from 2004 and makes use of the 12 V voltage that can be obtained from a car battery or smaller. The current is in the order of a few amps. We observed that in the original design of the publication the M1 is connected in the wrong way. The emitter must go directly to the 0 V output, which in turn is connected to ground. M1 must go from 3 V to ground.
