This circuit was found in a 1963 publication. Its purpose is to convert sinusoidal signals from the power grid into square signals of the same frequency. The original power is 1.5 V, but it can be powered with voltages up to 6 V if we use BC558 transistors and a 6 V and 50 mA to 250 mA transformer.
