I got this circuit from an English magazine from 1977. It can still be easily assembled, as the components are common. What this circuit does is to compress the dynamic range of the audio signals thus producing an almost constant volume effect. The circuit has an automatic gain control. It must be connected between the guitar and the amplifier input. The 9 V supply can be done by battery, as the consumption is very low.
