This circuit is from an old publication but can be implemented with modern silicon transistors such as BC558. The relay can be 6 or 12 V sensitive, depending on the supply voltage. The sensor is a common LDR and the 100k resistor can be replaced by a potentiometer of the same value for sensitivity adjustment.
