This circuit was obtained in a 1979 publication, but it can be assembled with the BD135 instead of the original transistor. The load current determined by R2 is of the order of 50 mA, but it can be changed through this resistor. The circuit is recommended for small AA and AAA batteries, such as those used in digital cameras.
