Telephone in Use Line Indicator (CB12177E)

We found this circuit in Popular Electronics from 1993. The circuit can be assembled with any MOSFET for Q1 and a BC548 for Q2. The circuit indicates when an analog phone line is busy. The circuit is powered by a 9 V battery and the consumption is higher only when the LED is on.
