This 3 to 30 V variable-voltage regulator configuration, with a maximum current of 1A was obtained in a 1977 manual. Transistors Q1 and Q3 can be BC548. In fact, with 2N3055, we believe that the actual maximum current may be much higher than that indicated in the publication. Equivalent operational amplifiers can be used, and the source must be symmetrical.
