This circuit is old, but it can be easily implemented with TIP42 transistors and a 6 + 6 V or 9 + 9 V transformer and current from 500 mA to 800 mA. The output voltage will depend on the characteristics of the transformer. The diodes can be 1N4004 and the filter capacitors can have values between 47uF and 100uF. The maximum output current is in the order of a few hundred milliamps.
