This circuit causes two LEDs to alternately flash at a frequency that depends on R1 and C1. R1 can have values between 10k and 1 M, while C1 can have values between 470nF and 10uF. Experiment. The supply of 5 to 12 V is made on pins 14 and 7 of the 4011. The integrated circuit 4001 can also be used in the same configuration.
