This circuit came out from the Linear Circuits Applications of Texas Instruments, based on the operational with FET TLC272. The period and, therefore, the frequency are given by RC. The power supply does not need to be symmetrical and FET equivalent operations can be used. Vref is half the supply voltage, obtained with a divider of two resistors of 100k-ohm. The FET can be a BF245.
