The XR2206 integrated circuit consists of a complete function generator. It is not a current component, as the diagram is from 1978, but if found, it can generate signals up to more than 100 kHz. The frequency is given by the potentiometers that can have values between 10 and 100 k and by the capacitor C3 that can have values between 100 pF and 10 uF typically. The power is from 9 to 12 V.
