An interesting possibility of use for the 555 CMOS is as a low consumption LED flasher, as shown. In this configuration, feeding the circuit with 9 V, we have an average consumption of the order of 250 uA only. which makes the circuit ideal for battery and toy signaling applications. since the TLC7555 also operates with voltages from 2 V.
