A VCO or voltage-controlled oscillator, which uses only two of the LM3900 amplifiers, is shown in the figure. The first amplifier is used to integrate the control voltage, while the other is connected as a Schmitt trigger that monitors the output of the integrator. The trigger circuit controls the reaping transistor to produce feedback for the circuit to oscillate.
