This oscillator can be used to produce signals ranging from a few kilohertz to approximately 10 megahertz. The frequency will depend on the value of L in parallel with Ca and Cb. Ca must be 5 times greater than Cb to guarantee the necessary feedback to maintain oscillations, and the transistor can be of any type of general use for RF. The power supply is typically between 6 and 15V for most transistors, such as the BF494.
