We found this circuit in an Electronics Now since 1994. With it we can control a triac with a very low current switch or sensor connected to R2. The Triac can be any 110 V or 220 V TIC series, equipped with a radiator and the transistor can be the BC558. The pulse transformer has a 1 to 1 turn ratio.
