This photometer was found in an English magazine in 1981 but can still be mounted today with either the original transistor or a BF245. The phototransistor can be of any type and even the voltage regulator can be replaced by an 8V1 zener and a 470-ohm resistor placed in series with the supply. A 9 V battery without the regulator can also be used with less precision.
