This simple test for general purpose NPN and PNP transistors was found in a 1974 publication. Transistors TR2 and TR3 can be BC558 and BC548. The circuit beeps when the transistor under test is in good condition. The supply can also be done with 6 V. Capacitors C1 and C2 determine the frequency of the sound emitted in the test.
