The contact of the sensor with water or humidity causes the relay to close its contacts. The transistors can be the BC548 and the circuit also works with a 6 V supply using a 6 V relay. This circuit was obtained in an English publication from 1980. The sensor consists of stripped wire ends or metal elements.
