This circuit is from a 1973 Argentine publication. Transistors no longer exist as well as the sensor. However, a common photo-diode with an infrared filter can be used in the circuit. The relay must be a sensitive type of 10 to 20 mA. Eventually, silicon transistors can be used with changes to some components. If a 12 V relay is used, the circuit can operate at this voltage.
