This shield circuit was found in the Texas Instruments Linear Circuits Applications of 1986. The circuit is an interface that couples a resistive transducer to a PC. The main component is the Texas 555 CMOS, the TLC555. The circuit ground must be common to the computer ground. R must be the same order of magnitude as the sensor resistance under normal operating conditions.
