This circuit generates a signal in the form of a ladder, with voltages rising in steps. The base is one of the four transconductance operational available in an LM3900. Capacitor C and resistor R is determined according to the frequency of the input signal, which must be rectangular with an active cycle of 50%. The formula next to the diagram allows to calculate these components. The power supply for the LM3900 must be symmetrical.
