With this circuit it is possible to obtain an intermediate voltage of 6 V from a 12 V battery with a current of the order of 1 A. It can be used to implement a symmetrical source in the car or in other similar applications. The power integrated circuit must be mounted on a heat radiator. The voltage division depends on the precision of the 10 K ohms resistors used in the reference input of this circuit.
