This is not such a sophisticated application, as it uses the two timers of a 556 in its normal monostable configuration. The circuit shown in figure 2 produces two-time intervals. The first is given by the 1 M ohm resistor and the 1uF capacitor connected to pins 1 and 2, while the second interval is given by the 130 k ohm capacitor and the 47uF resistor connected to pins 12 and 13. When a negative pulse is applied to the input, the circuit trips and the first timing starts with output 1 going to the high level and 2 remaining at the low level. At the end of the first delay, output 1 returns to low and output 2 to high. The circuit can be implemented with two independent 555.
