We now give an application other than 4013 that can also be used as monostable. In a common monostable there is an internal feedback that determines the end of the pulse when switching occurs. The connection of output Q to a resistor that carries a capacitor C allows the delay to be reset to the desired point, thus obtaining a monostable action.
