This circuit, suggested by Texas Instruments, allows the control of high-power loads powered by the local network, with phototransistors exciting a Triac. The Triac must be suffix B for the 110 V network and suffix D for the 220 V network. The phototransistors can be replaced by equivalents, as well as the diodes. The 100 nF capacitor is polyester for 200 V or more. The circuit activates the load by cutting the light on both sensors simultaneously.
