This circuit can be implemented with any triac of the TIC series and the lamp must be incandescent. Do not use a lamp of any other type. The circuit also works at 220 V. The Triac must have a heat radiator and R1 can be 47k. The neon lamp is of any type and the capacitors are polyester. The values of these components can be changed to obtain a better range of brightness control.
