This circuit is from a 1982 publication. It is a sequential effect of accelerated LEDs. The transistor can be the BC548 and if the power is supplied with 9 V, it is convenient to connect a 270-ohm resistor in series with the transistor collector. The speed of the effect is adjusted in RV1. The diodes can be 1N4148 or equivalent.
